Last year, just before the Burberry fashion show during London Fashion Week, Burberry was tweeting photos of the models before they hit the runway. They saw an amazing response from last year’s efforts, and decided to take it one step further for 2012. This year, the sneak peek images were in the form of animated GIFs. Burberry researched technology trends in marketing and the technology behind cinemagraphs and looped the images taken by photographers back stage prior to the show to create the animation. Not only did people get to view the live streaming fashion show online, but also got the behind the scenes experience by seeing the models in action before the show began. Burberry’s efforts with integrating social media into their fashion show as well as their ad campaign increases followers of the brand, and their use of new technology puts them at the front of their industry in technology.
